INTRODUCTIE
Hi I’m Sil Schoonman and I’m 15 years old. I’ve a little sister, she is already 9. I live in Ipanema, in Rua Baroa da Torre. We moved to Brazil, because my dad works for an offshore company called : Wartsila. We never moved to another country, we moved only once but that was in the Netherlands. I like Brazil so far, but I miss my friends at my old school and Family. I’m a windsurfer, in the Netherlands there are nice lakes for windsurfing. I began windsurfing when I was four, my dad taught me how to windsurf. My mother and my sister do also windsurfing, every holiday we take our stuff with us and go to somewhere where we can surf. I did also hockey, I stopped when we were moving to Brazil. There are not that much hockey clubs in Rio de Janeiro, and I wanted something else.
I’m not a reader, and when I read (what is a wonder) then it has to be a really good book. I like books with action in it. I love action and adventure. My favourite book is Brother Band 2, the author of this book is John Flanagan. I like all his books but specially Brother Band the most. There is a lot of action in it. John Flanagan knows what younger people like, because in his introductions he explains that when he was younger, he also hated books. John Flanagan has big series I read them all. I always read in holidays, because I don’t have to stop when it is exciting or cool.
I’m a positive writer, I look always forward and think about the future. For me the future will be everything. I don’t like to look back, because things are done and over. I like sports so I prefer to write about sports, specially windsurfing. At my old school we didn’t make that much essays or reports, but here on this school there are a lot of assignments including essays. I don’t have problems with that, because I think it’s really good for your writing skills. There is a really big difference between writing and speaking.
The most important thing is that I’ve fun and friends, and that also my teachers take me as I am. Of course I know that I have to work hard but it has a big influence if the teachers or your friends like you. That gives you a great feeling and I’m sure that your grades/marks will be better of that. My English will be so much better than first, and that’s is really good for my carrier. The second thing is to graduate in Rio, because then can I finish the High school in Rio and start the next school in The Netherlands.
